Bio : Susan Valot is a long-time broadcast journalist in the greater Los Angeles area. She covered Orange County from 2006 to 2011 for KPCC Radio, the NPR affiliate in Pasadena, California. Valot has won numerous awards, including several RTNA Golden Mike Awards and several Los Angeles Press Club Awards, including 2010 Radio Journalist of the Year. Valot has done several international reporting exchanges, including to Germany and Austria. She covers a wide variety of topics, from the economy and local government to sports and medical breakthroughs.

Bio : A member of the original small committee of individuals that brought AIR into being, I am happy to see how it thrives today. I produced radio in NYC throughout the 80s and 90s, producing a lot of radio drama (over 25 original plays commissioned and distributed nationally) and spoken word (original Producer of Selected Shorts). I have contributed to Studio 360 and BBC Radio 3 and 4. Productions include three programs for radio with Helen Engelhardt as Entre Deux Amies, various podcasts. I am currently creating audio art performance in France and the UK. I have recently appeared on France Culture and I have begun a new project: audio performance podcast recorded live in Lille, France called \"That Tuesday.\"

Bio : I grew up in California, Maine and London. I studied anthropology at Stanford University and photography at the Brooks Institute. After a brief residency in New York City, an aborted attempt to hike the Pacific Crest Trail (I only made it half way), I finally settled down in the small town of Point Reyes, California, where I worked as a waitress, a bookseller, a grass–fed beef rancher, a carpenter, a graphic designer, and a local foods advocate (I founded the group Locavores). I also started working at the local community radio station (KWMR), hosting an on–air book club and working to start the local news show. I then worked for a while for KQED before following my partner up to Seattle. There, I worked at KUOW for 4 years, producing the daily news call-in show,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"The Conversation,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" before moving over to the daily news talks show,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Weekday.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" I was responsible for all elements of production: topic generation, editing, booking, pre-interviewing, writing, etc..

I spent 2011-2012 living in India for 3 months, then traveling around Southeast Asia and South America.

I now work as a producer for Vermont Edition, the daily news talk show on Vermont Public Radio.

Bio : Tess Vigeland is a veteran journalist, and a well-known voice to millions of American radio listeners. She is the CEO of Tess Vigeland Productions, a Los Angeles-based multi-media company.

Until November 2012, Vigeland was the host of Marketplace Money, a weekly personal finance program that looks at why we do what we do with our money. She and her guests took calls from listeners to answer their most vexing money management questions, and helped explain what the latest business and financial news means to our wallets and bank accounts. Vigeland traveled the country for live stage shows of Marketplace and Marketplace Money. She was the recipient of the inaugural Excellence in Personal Finance Reporting Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association and the National Endowment for Financial Education in fall of 2012.

Vigeland joined Marketplace in September 2001, as a host of Marketplace Morning Report. She rose at o-dark-thirty to deliver the latest in business and economic news for nearly four years before returning briefly to reporting and producing. She began hosting Marketplace Money in 2006. Vigeland was also a back-up host for Marketplace. Prior to joining the team at Marketplace, Vigeland reported and anchored for Oregon Public Broadcasting in Portland, where she received a Corporation for Public Broadcasting Silver Award for her coverage of the political scandal involving Senator Bob Packwood (R-Ore.). She co-hosted the weekly public affairs program Seven Days on OPB television, and also produced an hour-long radio documentary about safety issues at the U.S. Army chemical weapons depot in Eastern Oregon. Vigeland next served as a reporter and backup anchor at WBUR radio in Boston. She also spent two years as a sports reporter for NPR’s Only a Game.

For her outstanding achievements in journalism, Vigeland has earned numerous awards from the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists. Vigeland has a bachelor’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She is a contributor to The New York Times and is a volunteer fundraiser for the Pasadena Animal League and Pasadena Humane Society. In her free time, Vigeland studies at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, continuing 20-plus years of training as a classical pianist. In fall of 2012, she completed her first half-marathon.
