Bio : Since February, 2010, I have worked as the science reporter at St. Louis Public Radio (90.7 KWMU). I regularly freelance for NPR, most often for the science desk. I also do freelance work for the Voice of America. My features and long-form interviews are available on PRX.

I first caught the radio bug writing commentaries for WAMU. After producing my first audio pieces at the Duke Center for Documentary Studies, I was hooked! I have done ecological research in the Brazilian Pantanal; regulated pesticides for the Environmental Protection Agency in Arlington, Va.; been a freelance writer and volunteer in South Africa; and contributed radio features to the Voice of America in Washington, DC.

I got my Ph.D. in ecosystem ecology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and my B.A. in environmental policy and biology at Cornell. I grew up in Cambridge, Mass., and in my mom’s home town of Auxerre, France.

I speak French and Portuguese (and a little Spanish).

Notes : My dream job: producing sound-rich audio documentaries from somewhere overseas!

Bio : Jasmin López is an independent audio producer, reporter and sound artist working throughout the United States, México, and Central America. Born in Los Angeles with familial roots in México, her childhood was affected by issues experienced on both sides of the U.S./México border. In 2007, Jasmin founded Project Luz - a project that empowers youth to share stories within their communities utilizing audio and photojournalism techniques. The following year, she moved to México where she collaborated with journalists and researched for published documentary projects, including coverage of communities affected by the H1N1 Influenza and the disappearance of the Colorado River. Her collaborative audio work about the Colorado River was shared at Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles, LookBetween Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville and Exposure Gallery in San Francisco.

Jasmin returned to Los Angeles in 2011 to lead a reporting project that introduced adverse health effects caused by the air pollution weighing heavily on the historic and predominantly Latino community of Boyle Heights. Most recently, she founded Listen Up, Los Angeles! - a growing collective of radio journalists and producers in the Los Angeles area. Her audio work on noise pollution in Boyle Heights was featured in the first Listen Up, Los Angeles group show in 2012. She also worked as coordinating editor for a program that trained young adults in journalistic ethics and practice, multimedia storytelling skills via USC Annenberg’s School of Journalism.

(And subsequently a freelance copywriter, ghostwriter, and content strategist, cuz you know, the bills). Bio : Hey guys, I\'m new to the \"audio production\" scene. I\'ve spent the past 2.5 years traveling around the world (50 countries so far!) including spending a lot of time in the Philippines during the Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) doing disaster relief. (Did I get any tape of this? NO! *sad panda*)

Before that, I was in the video game industry for over 10 years. Burned out. Hence the travels and change of career. (Surprisingly, feeding people after a typhoon is less stress than working in games.... Funny, eh?)

I currently help business coaches create podcasts and audio products while my wanderlust goes full-fledged and I continue to travel without holding a residence anywhere.
